The relevance of the project
Today, one of the significant environmental problems of large cities and industrial zones is the problem of waste accumulation. The European Union is one of the world leaders in the field of waste management.
The EU has taken a course to build a circular economy, in which the most important place is given to the reduction of waste generation, as well as the reuse and recycling of waste. For Ukraine, the problem of waste accumulation is also extremely relevant. Today, one of the most common methods of waste management in Ukraine is waste disposal, which does not correspond to the principles of the circular economy. At the same time, Ukraine has the status of a candidate for EU membership and harmonization of Ukrainian and EU legislation is underway. Therefore, familiarization with successful practices of the EU in the field of waste management are extremely important for Ukraine.
The project addresses the issues relevant to European policy and good practices in the field of waste management.
The aim of the project is to promote European policies and best practices in the field of waste management and adapt them to the realities of Ukraine, considering the principles of the circular economy.
